Under Israeli pressure... canceling a pro-Palestine exhibition in Switzerland
The Geneva municipality in Switzerland decided to ban an exhibition of supporters of the Palestinian cause, during which many murals, pictures and posters showing the suffering of the Palestinians would be displayed.
According to the Hebrew website Ynet, the exhibition was banned under pressure from the Israeli embassy in Switzerland and several pro-Israel organizations.
The exhibition was supposed to be held as part of the activities of the Geneva Municipal Conference, which opened a few days ago.
The exhibition is part of a series of exhibitions organized by Samidoon (Solidarity with Palestinian Prisoners) across Europe.
Samidoon is a non-governmental organization that supports the release of Palestinian prisoners and operates in Europe, Lebanon, Canada and the United States of America.
In February 2021, then-Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz classified the Samidoun organization as "terrorist" in light of its association with the Popular Front.
