Formation of a committee to raise the level of dialogue with UNRWA about the workers' demands

The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization said that it had formed a committee from among its members to raise the level of dialogue with UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, and sent him a letter in this regard to address all issues related to the future of UNRWA work and the protests that have been going on for about three months and its impact on services in the camps and the situation living in it.

After a meeting, today, Saturday, which was devoted to following up on the situation in the Palestinian camps, and the situation in the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees "UNRWA", the committee stressed the fairness of the demand protests, considering that this is one of the democratic trade union rights guaranteed by international labor agreements and the Palestinian laws in force in the State of Palestine. As a host country like all other host countries.

She affirmed the continuation of work with the People's Committees, the Services Committees, and the UNRWA Workers' Union to address the repercussions of the current crisis with UNRWA management and its future in light of the circumstances and threats to reduce its funding.

The Executive Committee drew attention to its direct and full responsibility for the conditions of our people and the camps in the homeland and the countries of asylum and diaspora, and its follow-up to the situation of UNRWA and the funding crisis it faces, and to review the services it provides to our people and refugee communities, stressing the political dimension of the role of UNRWA as a living witness to the Nakba and the tragedy of the Palestinian refugees that has continued since Seventy-five years.
