President Abbas: We reject the continued occupation of our land
Today, Friday, the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, affirmed his rejection of the Israeli occupation authorities' continued violation of our land and sanctities, calling on the international community to hold him accountable for his crimes against our people and to provide him with international protection.
In his speech before the 32nd Arab Summit in Jeddah, he called on Arab leaders to support the implementation of the recent General Assembly resolution, and to submit a written pleading by their countries before the International Court of Justice, to issue its advisory opinion and fatwa on the legality, form and eligibility of the system established by Israel, the occupying and apartheid state. on the land of Palestine.
President Abbas indicated that Israel denies the signed agreements and UN resolutions and adheres to an alternative colonial Zionist project based on the continuation of occupation, ethnic cleansing and apartheid, and that its successive governments defy international legitimacy through their unilateral measures, settlement policies, racist annexation projects, and their fascist laws.
He said, "This current and dangerous situation puts us in front of many responsibilities and due obligations, the most important of which is accelerating the pace to change this situation before it is too late, because Israel will not enjoy security and peace without the Palestinian people obtaining their freedom and independence."
President Abbas expressed his confidence that the Arab summit will succeed in facing the regional and global challenges facing our nation, stressing the readiness of the State of Palestine to work with it, under the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the success of Arab, regional and international efforts, within the framework of partnership and cooperation, and finding solutions to regional crises. In order to achieve security, peace and prosperity for our peoples.
He affirmed his confidence that the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people will be at the core of the concerns of the Arab summit, in order to find a just and comprehensive solution that ends the Israeli occupation of the State of Palestine with its capital, East Jerusalem, on the 1967 borders, the return of refugees, and the liberation of prisoners.
President Abbas stressed that such a solution must be based on the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, which we adhere to as a sure way to achieve peace in the region.
He saluted our steadfast people in the refugee camps and those stationed in Jerusalem and the environs of Jerusalem, as he saluted the martyrs, the prisoners and the wounded.
President Abbas stressed the continuation of work for the unity of our people and our land and the achievement of national reconciliation on the basis of adherence to the program of the Liberation Organization and international legitimacy.
And he stressed that our people will continue to stand firm in their historical homeland, their land and the land of their fathers and grandfathers, preserving their national identity and sanctities, and that the occupation will end, whether it be long or short.
The President expressed his confidence in the continuation of Arab leaders to provide political and material support to strengthen the steadfastness and survival of our people on their land, and to continue building the institutions of their independent state.
On the United Nations' decision to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Nakba for the first time since 1948, Abbas said: "This UN resolution constitutes a refutation of the Zionist-Israeli narrative that denies the Nakba."
