Senior officials of the Jewish community in Hungary said, on Friday, that after holding talks with the environment of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, his country is about to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The Hebrew website, Ynet, quoted these sources as saying that this may take place as early as the end of this month or next month.

According to the same sources, the decision has already been taken by Orban, and the appropriate time is being discussed with Israeli government agencies.

A senior official in the Jewish community, which is close to the Hungarian government, said that Orban had informed Benjamin Netanyahu of this, and they are waiting for the appropriate time, especially because the European Union may oppose this step.

According to the Hebrew site, if this step is implemented, it will be an important step, because Hungary is a member of the European Union, and it will be the first country to take such a step.
