On Wednesday, Deputy Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Vedant Patel called on all parties to exercise restraint, against the background of the flags march being organized by the Israelis on Thursday.

In the daily press briefing, as reported on the Hebrew Walla website, Patel stressed the need to avoid actions and rhetoric that would escalate the situation.

In response to a question about why US President Joe Biden's administration did not ask Israel to ban the flag march, Patel said, "We believe in the right of individuals to express themselves and do so peacefully."

Israel insists that the march of flags pass according to its plan, by passing through the Damascus Gate and the Old City in a provocative manner, which is rejected by the resistance.
