Jamil Mezher , Deputy Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, called on Saturday for the formulation of a clear Palestinian strategy based on unity and popular and national participation from all segments of society, to confront the Israeli aggression and confront the plans of the occupation.

In a press conference, Mezher stressed the need to work quickly in order to build a true national unity that works to rebuild the PLO, to call for the convening of a Palestinian National Council in which all forces participate, and to implement the decisions of the national consensus to withdraw recognition of the occupation and break with Oslo and its security, political and economic obligations. Foremost among them is security coordination.

Mezher also called for the formation of a national leadership to manage the battle with the occupation, confront the aggression, deepen the occupation's crises and confuse its plans, praising the recent qualitative operations from Palestine and abroad, which he said revealed the fragility of the occupation's security system, and proved that the resistance is capable of defending its people and its sanctities.

He called on the resistance fighters and all resistance forces to escalate their actions against the occupation and the settlers, as that is the guarantor and effective option to defeat the occupation and force it to leave, calling for the continuation of the mass field engagement and confronting the settler militias through the formation of the People's Protection Committees to protect the people.

The Deputy Secretary-General of the Popular Front affirmed the Front's adherence to the option of resistance in all its forms, side by side with the resistance factions.
