The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz said, on Sunday, that the future of the Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant , who was dismissed from his position with a direct announcement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu , is still unclear, especially since he did not receive any official letter of his dismissal, which is necessary for it to take effect.

Gallant was dismissed by Netanyahu after he warned of the danger of continuing "judicial reforms" and their impact on the Israeli army.

According to the Hebrew newspaper, senior officials in the Israeli army and the security system have sent messages to the political echelon in recent days stating that the ambiguity about the fate of the minister creates an unhealthy situation.

The newspaper learned that Netanyahu postponed all the urgent and important talks he was supposed to have with Gallant last week.

As usual, the Israeli prime minister and his army minister hold urgent security discussions every week that include approval permits for operations to take place as usual, and this week that did not happen.

In an interview with "Haaretz", security sources strongly criticized Netanyahu's behavior towards Galant in light of the threats on the ground, which are increasing in the recent period, stressing that it is unbearable to keep the army minister suspended in the air for a week, and this makes it difficult for Israel to respond and attack.

This comes in light of pressure on Netanyahu even from the US administration to keep Galant, amid mediation efforts by some Israeli party leaders, and amid calls from within the Likud and his government coalition to keep his dismissal.
