Turkey: Suspending the movement of ships in the Bosphorus Strait due to the delinquency of a cargo ship
Ankara - "Jerusalem" dot com - Today, Monday, the Turkish authorities suspended the movement of ships in the Bosphorus Strait , after a cargo ship ran aground while sailing from Ukraine to Istanbul.
According to the Turkish Anadolu Agency, the General Directorate of Coastal Safety said in a press statement, "The cargo ship MKK-1, with a length of 142 meters, ran aground off the coast of Beykoz in the city of Istanbul, while it was heading from Ukraine to the city," adding, "Our eight boats were directed immediately to the scene of the accident."
And she confirmed that "the movement of ships in the Bosphorus Strait has been temporarily suspended."
It is noteworthy that cargo ships sail from Ukrainian ports, within the framework of the Istanbul Grain Transportation Agreement (the initiative for the safe shipment of grain and foodstuffs from Ukrainian ports), which was signed on July 22 last year between Turkey , Russia, Ukraine and the United Nations.
The agreement, which was sponsored by Turkey and the United Nations, included securing grain exports suspended in Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea (eastern Europe) to the world.
