The General Union declares an open strike, with no going to schools in the West Bank and Jerusalem
Ramallah - "Jerusalem" dot com - The General Union of Palestinian Teachers in Ramallah announced the open strike, starting tomorrow, Tuesday.
The General Union of Teachers stated, in a statement issued today, Monday, that the strike will be open, with no going out in schools in the West Bank and Jerusalem, the Education Directorates and the Ministry of Education building, starting tomorrow until a new statement is issued by the Union.
He said, "The Teachers' Union followed up with all parties the implementation of the agreement regarding the Teachers' Union, and we communicated with everyone, and we shouldered the burden of the national position, proud of that. An initiative was presented through the People's Organizations Commission, and it contained several items, but the government's speech was not comprehensive of these items, and it touched on the issue of the Civil Service Law without mentioning it." It mentions the participation of trade unions and the federation in its drafting, and it did not address the preservation of the financial impact of the remaining agreements and percentages.
The federation added, "In light of the confusion of the educational scene with all its components, principals, teachers, and directorates of education, and students are affected by everything that is happening. It is a matter of national and trade union responsibility. We are heading to this step and we are all in pain because we know the size of the general loss as a result of this step, but we are forced to do so in order to implement our agreement and save students and our educational system.
