The secretary of the Bar Association, Dawood Darawi, told Al-Quds: "It has become clear that the characteristic of the government's relationship with the unions in general and the Bar Association in particular is lack of endorsement and lack of respect for the understandings that were signed with the unions. Since the beginning of the movement, we have been avoiding any collision process." Which disrupts the interests of the people, but the government was supposed to issue a decision in the cabinet session yesterday, Monday, regarding the understandings, but the government turned its back and evaded its role.

Darawi continued, "The government and the Judicial Council met to break the Bar Association, with regard to its financial resources, and then the government came to confirm its negative relationship with the unions," noting that these escalating steps by the Bar Association came as a result of that, and the government evaded its obligations.

In order to confront what it called "the siege imposed on the job opportunities available to lawyers, according to the work of the legal profession, including the regulation of notarial documents," the Council of the Bar decided, in a press statement, to offer to stop accepting new trainees in the Bar to the General Assembly at its next regular meeting in April of this year.

The Bar Association decided to suspend work before the civil and military criminal courts, the civil and military criminal appeals courts, before the Corruption Crimes Court, and juvenile courts of all levels, starting tomorrow morning, Thursday, and until the end of working hours on Thursday (the nineteenth of this month), with the exception of the suspension of releases. The Syndicate also decided to suspend the comprehensive work before all regular, military and administrative courts and settlement courts of all levels and before the civil and military prosecutions and official institutions without any exceptions throughout next Monday, with the central sit-in next Monday, inside and in front of the Supreme Judicial Council in Ramallah, starting at eleven o’clock. In a statement, the Bar Association indicated that its steps come in the face of the failure of all means of rational dialogue and the government’s disavowal of the understandings that the Bar Association signed with the Minister of Justice as a representative of the government and in charge of dialogue with the Bar Association, regarding notarial documents and regarding the framing of legal aid in accordance with the vision presented by the Bar and the amendments. that have been agreed upon regarding the schedule of court fees.

The statement stated that the union council prevailed over the principle of partnership and integration to reach a state in which justice is stabilized and everyone avoids the consequences of union escalation.

The statement indicated that its escalation comes in the face of the Supreme Judicial Council’s insistence on punishing the union for its recent movement and its continuous endeavor to subjugate the will of the union and its arm by drying up its financial resources by stopping the enforcement of the notarial bonds regulations issued by the union and applied since 2009 after it was published in the Official Gazette according to the governing law. of the Bar Association issued by the elected Legislative Council in 1999.
