Under the hashtag "They Lied to You".. A Palestinian digital campaign exposes the falsehood of the truce and documents the continuation of massacres in Gaza

A group of Palestinian activists and journalists, with the participation of international solidarity activists, launched a wide-ranging digital media campaign under the hashtag #They_Lied_to_You, aiming to confront misleading narratives promoting the end of the war of annihilation in the Gaza Strip. This initiative seeks to draw the attention of the international community, which has begun to succumb to the illusion of 'truce,' emphasizing that global silence contributes to legitimizing ongoing crimes behind the curtain of complex political pathways.

The campaign based its discourse on shocking figures derived from field data, as sources revealed the documentation of approximately 3689 direct violations of the so-called ceasefire agreement since October 10, 2025. Reports clarified that these violations were not mere fleeting incidents, but rather systematic military operations that plunged the Strip back into a cycle of killing and widespread destruction that had not truly ceased.

These continuous violations led to the martyrdom of 1122 individuals and the injury of over 3500 citizens with varying degrees of wounds, the vast majority of whom were women and children who found themselves victims of relentless bombardment. The attacks also caused the erasure of entire Palestinian families from civil registries, bringing back memories of the genocidal nightmares that characterized the first months of the widespread aggression on the Strip.

On the humanitarian front, the campaign affirmed that the suffocating siege continues to tighten its grip on the residents of Gaza, as the occupation authorities have not allowed the entry of more than 35% of essential relief and medical needs. This severe shortage of supplies coincides with the continuation of forced displacement policies, where thousands of citizens are forced to repeatedly flee into the unknown in search of lost safety under the weight of intense bombardment.

The campaign reflects the popular exhaustion in Gaza after more than a thousand days of war, where the greatest wish of a Gazan citizen has become to spend one night without the sound of explosions or funerals. The campaign organizers send a final message to the world about the necessity of looking into the 'mirror of truth' and acknowledging that Gaza is still bleeding profusely, far from the clamor of political statements that find no resonance on the ground.
