Abu Bakr to Al-Quds: We warn of an escalation in the targeting of prisoners during the coming period
Ramallah - exclusive to Al-Quds.com - The head of the Commission for Detainees and Ex-Prisoners' Affairs, Major General Qadri Abu Bakr, warned of an escalation in the targeting of prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons, especially with the arrival of extremist figures to power in the occupation government.
Abu Bakr said in an interview with Al-Quds.com: "Everything is expected from the occupation, and we do not rule out any escalation in targeting the prisoners during the coming period, after the Israeli elections, but I do not expect serious things to happen to the prisoners, if they raise international public opinion and the prisoners." Currently, they are already living in difficult conditions, not only in the era of extremists, but there is hatred from all components of the occupation against them.”
Abu Bakr stressed that the prisoners adhere to their basic life demands, and if the occupation tries to withdraw their achievements, they will confront that, and they will escalate to the strike, which is the insistence of the prisoners to confront those who try to harm their basic rights.
Abu Bakr said: "From the Israeli occupation in 1967 until now, the occupation targets the prisoners and their basic demands, then the prisoners take steps and strikes and so on until now. It is a continuous battle since the occupation."
Abu Bakr stressed that any attempt to escalate by targeting the prisoners, the captive movement will face those occupation policies, which was confirmed by the prisoners themselves that they will not go back, and they are ready for every possibility that the occupation prisons administration will deal with them.
Abu Bakr stressed that whenever there is a movement inside the prisons of the occupation by the prisoners, it is natural that there is support for the prisoners abroad, especially if there are collective strikes that the prisoners engage in to achieve their demands and defend their achievements.
