A pause with the birth of the Seal of the Prophets: when affection and love meet

Written by: Prince Hassan bin Talal

The birth of the Mustafa was not like the birth of all the greats, but rather his birth was the birth of a civilization whose giving extended from Tangier to Jakarta and from Ghana to Fergana. Its scientific and spiritual radiations extended to the surrounding cultures and civilizations.

The genius of the Mustafa is manifested in his ability to combine the lights of gratitude and noble morals, and between mercy, forgiveness, strength and justice.

Al-Mustafa's call did not depend on presenting theoretical reform ideas, but he sought with all his might to establish a just, strong and compassionate human society. His call was a model of “active” faith that combines faith and action, and seeks to purify the soul, build society, dedicate servitude to God, liberate the mind and will, ignite the spirit and motivate determination.

The Chosen One presented to mankind two interrelated models, the first of which was on the individual level, where he was a living example of faith in God and good deeds, striving to reach the corners of the earth and hitting its parts with determination, strength and persistence.

The second model is represented by the humane society established by the Prophet in Medina, which is a model that makes the Muslim more confident in the possibility of advancement, change, and facing the challenges and difficulties that hinder the building and reform of societies.

What we want to evoke from the birth of the Chosen One is to build a “believing personality” that understands reality and its problems and criticizes the erroneous ideas and sayings that people inherit from their parents without contemplating or thinking.

One of the blessings of God upon humanity is that He made the prophets among human beings, walking on earth, eating and drinking, speaking in the language of their people, living, suffering and dying. God sent them to us from ourselves and from within our societies so that they may be a good example for us all. Upon you are the believers, Kind and Merciful} (At-Tawbah: 128) One of the subtle meanings included in the previous verse is what came in the books of interpretation that “he read: from yourselves, from preciousness, that is: from the most honorable and best among you.” And the Almighty said: (Exalted is dear to him what you have) meaning: He is honored by what is difficult for you, and for this reason it came in the hadith: I was sent with the tolerant Hanafis.

Affection and love have come together in one essence, which is the personality of the Chosen One, peace and blessings be upon him. His love is mediated by the love of God Almighty and the love of the pure household, as he, peace and blessings be upon him, says: “Love God for what He nourishes you of His blessings, and love me with the love of God, and love my household with my love.” (Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi ).

The Qur’an teaches us that affection begins with relatives.
O family of the Messenger of God, your love is an obligation from God in the Qur’an that He sent down. It is sufficient for you of great importance that you who do not pray upon you have no prayer.

Among the manifestations of the greatness of the Chosen One is “the universality of his message.” He did not address an ethnic group, national minority, or sectarian group, but rather addressed all people. Therefore, today we find great nationalities that have believed in the message of Islam and followed its teachings, such as the Arabs, Persians, Turks, Kurds, Berbers, and many nationalities in East Asia and Africa, and these All of them represent the “nation of response” who bear the responsibility of calling for faith and the virtues of morals along with the responsibility for the advancement of societies and the development of science and knowledge. Talking about faith guidance, without building a just and productive society that contributes to the development of human civilization, does not embody the truth of the Islamic message that came to reconstruct the earth and achieve a “good life” for all with all its social, economic, scientific and environmental meanings and fields.

The responsibility of the nation, which is at the forefront of the dawah mission, requires that it express the message of Islam and the loftiness of its teachings, and that it clings to the rope of God and does not allow conflict, division and division. Perhaps what is happening today in terms of conflicts and divisions among the sons of the Islamic nation represents the greatest insult to the image of Islam and its monotheistic spirit.

What our generations suffer today from the spirit of faith and its core values is the result of what ignorance, extremism and intolerance have reaped, and the problems and imbalances imposed by globalization, such as moral relativism, the loss of cultural identities, the marginalization of religious affairs, and the resulting “silent atheism” that cannot be easily remedied.

We live today in difficult circumstances that need to reorient the compass so that it is spiritual and emotional, especially as we face the escalation of fear of new global wars, disasters and epidemics that destroy life on our planet. This is what makes us need more courage in order to exist and defend the dignity of everyone and their right to a decent life.

One of the most beautiful teachings of the message brought by the Seal of the Prophets is its focus on building the common belief in the one God who represents the core of the faith. Therefore, the Holy Qur’an called on all followers of the heavenly laws to search for the common word, which begins with the worship of the One God, the Creator of everything and the Lord of everything. Say: O people of the book, come to a word together between us and between you, that we do not worship except God. Cooperation for all that is good for all mankind.
