OCHA: The occupation demolished and confiscated 50 homes in the West Bank within two weeks
Jerusalem - "Al Quds" dot com - The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said today, Saturday, that the Israeli occupation authorities demolished, confiscated or forced Palestinian citizens to demolish 50 buildings in the West Bank within two weeks.
The office stated, in a periodic report, that the houses were demolished under the pretext of lack of building permits, which resulted in the displacement of 55 people, including 28 children, and the livelihoods of about 220 other citizens were damaged.
The report indicated that the occupation authorities have demolished, since the beginning of this year, 10 homes as part of their punitive policies against the families of those who carried out the attacks, compared to three homes in 2021 and six in 2020, stressing that “punitive demolitions are a form of collective punishment and therefore are illegal.” under international law.”
The report pointed out that two schools were at risk of demolition in the south of Hebron and Ramallah, noting that the occupation authorities issued a final demolition order against two rooms that form part of a school in the Sha’ab al-Batem community, south of Hebron.
Also, on August 10, an Israeli court ordered the immediate demolition of Ein Samia School, northeast of Ramallah, which will affect about 17 students.
The demolition of Palestinian facilities and buildings is considered an Israeli policy pursued by the occupation authorities in the occupied Palestinian territories in order to turn the lives of the Palestinians there into hell, with the aim of forcing them to leave their land by seizing and stealing it.
