This came during a speech he gave at a party organized by the Islamic Jihad Movement on the third anniversary of the death of its former Secretary-General, Ramadan Shallah, where he praised the latter's virtues in defending the Palestinian cause.

Azm said: "No matter how different the stages are, no matter how imbalances are disturbed, and no matter how short the Arabs are, the Palestinian cause remains the focus of work, effort and hope of every Arab and Muslim.

He added: "Despite the will of some rulers and despite the will and action of evil forces in the region, despite all of this, the issue remained with this momentum and with this fullness, and Ramadan Shallah was an example of that... We believe that this flow that Palestine pushes into people's veins and hearts will not stop, no matter how intense the attempts are." It aims to eradicate Palestine in terms of presence, behavior, history and geography.

He continued, "The attempts will not stop, but you will not be able to defeat the free people on this land. We do not think that we have lived through a more difficult situation than the one we are experiencing today. We will win with certainty."

Azzam said: “In the face of the chaos that strikes the region and the world, we affirm that Arab and Islamic countries cannot absolve themselves of their duty towards Palestine, its people, and its sanctities.
