Al-Bireh - exclusive to Al-Quds.com - The journalist and freed prisoner , Bushra Al- Taweel, from the city of Al-Bireh, confirmed that she left the female prisoners to suffer in light of the winter weather and its bitter cold, from a lack of heating means, and from a lack of clothing, especially for the new prisoners.


Al-Taweel, who was released on the eleventh of last month, said, "There are currently 30 female prisoners in Damoun prison, and the living conditions of the female prisoners are difficult in the winter, with a lack of heating means, and electric heaters are not enough, as there is one for every four female prisoners, and the families are trying to Bringing clothes in, but the prison administration oppresses them and tries to prevent them, as there is a shortage of entering clothes, as well as blankets.”


According to al-Taweel, "female prisoners are allowed once every 3 months to bring in clothes and some light blankets, which constitutes a shortage in the needs of female prisoners, especially the new ones, and this deficiency affects their psyche more."


With regard to food and drink, Al-Taweel confirms in an interview with Al-Quds.com that the food provided and the ingredients of hot drinks are bad, including bread, as well as drinking water. The prisoners are forced to buy mineral water at their own expense from the cantina, because the water in the network is worrisome and has a strange color. .


Al-Taweel indicated that the female prisoners refuse to eat the food provided by the prison administration, which forces them to collect food ingredients such as vegetables and others, and they cook the food with their own hands, or buy some ingredients at their own expense.


On the other hand, Al-Taweel confirmed that when she was released from the occupation prisons, she left behind 5 female prisoners suffering from mental illnesses and their conditions are worsening, and the female prisoners are all calling for action to treat them. "A complaint was submitted about this through lawyers and human rights institutions, but to no avail."


Al-Taweel indicated that among the female prisoners who suffer as a result of their injuries are: Israa Jaabis and Marah Bakir, both from Jerusalem, and they need treatment for the effects of their injuries, despite the passage of about 8 years since their arrest, and there is also the prisoner Ataf Jaradat, who suffers from chronic diseases and needs care. .


According to Al-Taweel, the female prisoners demand an improvement in their living conditions, as well as the provision of treatment for sick female prisoners, whether for psychological conditions, chronic diseases, or the injured, and work for their release, and for human rights institutions to stand by them, especially in light of the threats and escalation against male and female prisoners in prisons, and the above. This is out of neglect of their case, while Al-Taweel indicates that he did not move anything after the martyrdom of the captive Saadia Farajallah.


According to Al-Taweel, there are 30 female prisoners in Damon Prison, including 3 minors and four mothers, and their daily life conditions need to be improved, stressing that the female prisoners, in light of the statements and threats by the new occupation government, demand more attention to their case.


Al-Taweel indicated that the occupation tried during the past periods, especially after the "Freedom Tunnel" operation, to impose measures on the prisoners, and found in the female prisoners a point of provocation against the captive movement, and began to impose measures on them, which prompted the captive movement to escalate afterwards, while Al-Taweel warns that the occupation authorities should legislate By imposing procedures and penalties on female prisoners, as a prelude to escalation against the captive movement.


The occupation forces released the journalist, Bushra Al-Taweel, on the eleventh of last month, after an administrative detention that lasted 9 months in the occupation prisons, noting that she spent more than 4 years in the occupation prisons.
