The "Muti" returns to prison and leaves his right leg buried behind

Bethlehem - "Jerusalem" dot com - Najeeb Farraj - Today, Issa Adnan Al-Moati is 23 years old, ten years after he was hit by a dum-dum bullet fired at him by the Israeli occupation soldiers, which seriously injured him in the right leg when he was under the age of 13 years old.

The incident took place on 9/19/2015, during the outbreak of clashes at al-Qubbah Roundabout, north of Bethlehem. Immediately, these forces arrested him and transferred him directly to the Israeli Hadassah Hospital due to his severe injury. Doctors decided to amputate his leg in two stages within one week. After This week, the Ofer Military Court decided to release him in exchange for a fine of 7,000 shekels so that he could return home without his leg.

At that time, the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs was able to obtain the leg, and decided at that time to hold the burial ceremony of the leg in the martyrs’ cemetery located in the village of Artas, adjacent to the camp, in the presence of a large crowd of representatives of various events, institutions, and forces in an exceptional scene, as it is customary for martyrs to be buried. However, this time, the occupation forces assassinated this young boy's leg with a dum-dum bullet, says Hassan Abed Rabbo, spokesman for the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Prisoners' Affairs.

Days, months, and years pass, until the child Issa manages to have an artificial leg fitted to him, and he takes his life to reach 23 years old, and he grows up facing the troubles of life with unyielding persistence and determination.

On the twenty-sixth of this month (Thursday), the occupation forces raided his humble family's home in Dheisheh camp , and arrested him.

Abed Rabbo says: "The arrest of Al-Moati is evidence that the occupation forces are continuing their war of arrests against Palestinian citizens, including the elderly, the sick, and those who suffer from severe injuries like his condition," indicating that he needs continuous treatment and care inside the prison and someone to help him loosen his foot. Whether when going to sleep or when going to the shower.

He added: That he was taken to prison in this way confirms the extent of the racism and fascism of this occupation and that the detainees are in grave danger and they need someone to defend them and the absent international protection.
