The occupation prison administration bargains with the prisoner Soufan to provide him with treatment

Ramallah – “Jerusalem” dot com – The Prisoner’s Club said today, Thursday, that the prisoner Musa Soufan (47 years), from Tulkarem, who is sick with cancer, is subjected to a bargaining process by the occupation prison administration, which is to provide him with treatment at his own expense. .

The Prisoner’s Club stated, in a statement, that the policy of economic exploitation pursued by the Israeli occupation is escalating in an unprecedented manner and on many levels, and this is not the first time that the administration of occupation prisons has required a sick prisoner to bear the cost of his treatment, although treatment is a basic right for the prisoner. The administration of occupation prisons is obligated to provide it.

He explained that prisoner Soufan, who was recently diagnosed with a lung tumor, and is in need of chemotherapy sessions, suffered over the years of his detention from the crime of medical negligence (slow killing), despite the many claims made by the prisoner years ago to provide him with treatment and to know the final diagnosis of what He suffers, but for years he has not received any response to his demands, and this is part of a long series of evidence that confirms that he was subjected to medical negligence, deliberate procrastination, and psychological torture through doctor manipulation in disclosing his true health status during the past years until today.

He said: Soufan, who is sentenced to life in prison and is imprisoned in Ashkelon prison, has been facing oppressive detention conditions since his arrest in 2003, including the crime of medical negligence (slow killing), which constitutes the most prominent systematic policy that led to the death of dozens of prisoners, apart from the isolation. Solitary confinement, which he encountered many times, and contributed to the worsening of his health condition.

It is worth mentioning that about (23) prisoners are facing cancer and tumors of varying degrees, and the most serious of these cases is the case of the prisoner, Nasser Abu Hamid, and they are among about 600 sick prisoners who have been diagnosed.

It is noteworthy that the prisoner Soufan is the brother of the two prisoners, Adnan and Muhammad Soufan, where Adnan is serving a 29-year prison sentence and has been detained since 2002, and Muhammad has been sentenced to 18 years in prison and has been detained since 2011.
