Translation by "Jerusalem" dot com - The Hebrew newspaper Israel Hayom stated, on Wednesday, that the so-called far-right "Temple Mount groups" will seek to exploit the presence of extremist Itamar Ben Gvir in the position of Minister of National Security, to change the status quo in Al-Aqsa Mosque .

According to the newspaper, these groups submitted to Ben Ghafir demands related to opening all the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque to settlers even on Jewish holidays and holidays, including Saturday, as well as to increase the number of assailants to Al-Aqsa in the hours after the noon prayer, and to extend the storming hours in the evening.

The incursions are currently limited to taking place from the Mughrabi Gate, for a period of 4 hours in the morning, and briefly after the noon prayer for an hour, and over a period of five days, from Sunday to Thursday. As reported by the newspaper.

She pointed out that in the first years after the Six-Day War in 1967, settlers were allowed to storm Al-Aqsa until Saturdays, and it was done from several gates.

These groups seek to take advantage of Ben Gvir's presence as a minister to hold discussions about these demands with the Israeli police, which also include allowing individual raids, not just by allowing groups, which requires a change in security procedures.

According to the newspaper, these issues will be raised by Ben Gvir to the Shin Bet, the police and the relevant security authorities, as well as to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, noting that Ben Gvir and Netanyahu agreed that any change to the situation at Al-Aqsa requires the approval of the latter.
