In an interview with the official “Voice of Palestine” radio station, Dabbeek said that about a third of the buildings in Palestine are subject to significant damage, and that another third will be in an average condition, and about 40% to a reasonable degree, indicating that one part may collapse completely, another partially, and a third only as a result of cracks and fissures. .
He pointed out that there are buildings that do not meet the minimum requirements for earthquake resistance, stressing the necessity for the competent authorities to take steps related to the engineering work of buildings to allow their protection.
Al-Dbeek did not rule out, after the two new earthquakes last night in Turkey and Syria, which were felt by the residents of Palestine, that the latter would witness a major earthquake after the recent light earthquakes.
