Saudi Arabia releases a Palestinian and his son, and Hamas considers it a prelude to opening a new page
Riyadh - "Al Quds" dot com - The Saudi authorities released, on Wednesday morning, the engineer, Suleiman Haddad, and his son, Yahya, after nearly 4 years of detention.
Izzat al-Rishq , a member of the Hamas political bureau, said Haddad and his son were on their way to Istanbul.
Al-Rishq appreciated Saudi Arabia's decision to release Haddad and his son, considering that this is an important step in the right direction.
He expressed his hope that this step would be a prelude to opening a new page with Saudi Arabia, and he hoped that these positive steps would continue with the release of the rest of the Palestinian detainees.
He stressed Hamas' keenness to maintain positive relations with Saudi Arabia and all brotherly countries in the service of the Palestinian cause and the Arab and Islamic nation.
In September 2019, the Saudi authorities arrested a group of Palestinians and Jordanians, for reasons that Hamas said were related to their support for the resistance, and in October 2022 they released the movement's representative, Muhammad al-Khudari.
