Hamas Calls on Guarantor States to Intervene Following Al-Nasser Neighborhood Massacre in Gaza

Hamas movement strongly condemned the recent Israeli targeting of a residential apartment in Al-Nasser neighborhood in Gaza City, confirming that this operation resulted in the martyrdom of five people, including a child. In an official statement, the movement considered this escalation a deliberate war crime added to the long record of violations, describing it as an extension of the genocide war against the Palestinian people.

Field sources clarified that the Israeli aerial bombardment directly targeted a gathering of civilians within the densely populated residential area west of the city, leading to widespread destruction and critical injuries among residents. According to the sources, this attack raised the death toll since dawn on Saturday to eight Palestinians, amid continued intensive overflights by warplanes and drones in the Strip's airspace.

Hamas movement stressed that the Israeli government's insistence on continuing killing and assassination operations reflects a clear desire to undermine any existing understandings. It indicated that the occupation is trying to exploit the state of relative calm to carry out treacherous strikes targeting unarmed civilians, which contradicts all international and humanitarian norms and laws that protect civilians in times of conflict.

In a related context, the movement issued an urgent appeal to the American administration and the guarantor states of the ceasefire agreement, demanding their immediate and serious intervention to curb Israeli aggression. It affirmed that international silence regarding these violations gives the green light for the occupation to continue its crimes, calling on international human rights organizations to document these massacres in preparation for holding Israeli leaders accountable.

For its part, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip revealed shocking figures related to the extent of human losses since the start of the recent ceasefire agreement. Official data reported that the number of victims of repeated Israeli violations reached 1144 martyrs, in addition to more than 3700 Palestinians injured with varying degrees, putting the agreement at risk.

Regarding the comprehensive statistics of the ongoing aggression since October 8, 2023, medical teams recorded the martyrdom of 73,269 Palestinians, while the number of injured exceeded 173,000. These figures show the scale of the humanitarian tragedy experienced by the residents of the Strip amid systematic targeting of residential areas and public facilities over many months.

The aggression was not limited to human losses only, but also extended to include almost complete destruction of basic life components in Gaza, with reports indicating damage to about 90% of civilian infrastructure. This destruction includes water and electricity networks, hospitals, and schools, making the reconstruction process a huge challenge for the international community amid the ongoing blockade.

The movement concluded its statement by affirming the right of the Palestinian people to defend themselves and confront the Israeli war machine by all available means. It called on Arab and Islamic masses and free people of the world to intensify their popular and diplomatic movements to pressure the occupation and stop the genocide war targeting the Palestinian presence in the Gaza Strip, Jerusalem, and all occupied territories.

These ongoing crimes reveal the true face of the occupation and its pursuit of continued genocide in Gaza under the guise of a ceasefire agreement.
