A Citizen killed in Rafah and artillery shelling targets Khan Yunis amid ongoing occupation violations

Field sources reported the martyrdom of a Palestinian citizen today, Friday, after he was directly targeted by an Israeli drone in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip. Eyewitnesses stated that a 'quadcopter' drone launched a bomb at citizen Raafat Adel Breika, 42 years old, while he was in the Al-Shakoush area west of the city, leading to his immediate death in a new crime added to the series of ongoing occupation violations.

In a related context, the city of Khan Yunis witnessed a significant military escalation, as Israeli artillery heavily and violently shelled the eastern areas of the city. Local sources reported that the occupation army carried out two demolition operations of residential buildings in the northeastern part of Khan Yunis during the late night hours, reflecting the Israeli forces' insistence on destroying what remains of the infrastructure despite existing understandings.

These field developments come at a time when the Ministry of Health revealed a heavy toll of victims of Israeli violations since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 10, 2025. According to official data, the occupation army has killed approximately 883 Palestinians and injured 2,648 others in various attacks, putting the fragile agreement to severe tests amid the continued systematic targeting of civilians.

On the regional level, the aggressions did not stop at the borders of the Strip, as reports indicated the martyrdom of four people and the injury of others in Israeli raids targeting health authority centers in the Lebanese town of Hanaway. Economic estimates indicate that the extent of losses in Lebanon due to the aggression has exceeded 20 billion dollars, with expectations of a sharp contraction in the Lebanese economy reaching 10% as a result of the destruction of vital and agricultural sectors.

It is worth noting that the Gaza Strip is experiencing a state of widespread destruction after a war of genocide that began in October 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 72,000 citizens and the injury of over 172,000. The destruction has affected about 90% of vital and civilian facilities, while international reports continue to warn of an environmental and humanitarian catastrophe threatening the lives of survivors due to water pollution and the accumulation of waste in displacement centers.

The occupation continues to violate the ceasefire agreement, targeting unarmed civilians in the border areas of the Gaza Strip.
