Settlers burn Palestinian homes and vehicles in the northern West Bank.

Israeli settlers set fire on Tuesday to homes and vehicles belonging to Palestinian citizens in the northern occupied West Bank, according to eyewitnesses.

The witnesses said that a group of settlers stormed the "Ladan" area located between the towns of Beit Lid and Deir Sharaf west of Nablus, and set fire to tin houses, tents, and vehicles owned by residents from the Palestinian Bedouins.

They clarified that the fire completely consumed a number of homes and vehicles before Palestinian firefighting crews arrived at the site, amid the presence of the Israeli occupation army, which provided protection to the settlers.

Various areas of the West Bank have witnessed an unprecedented escalation in settler attacks on Palestinians and their properties since the outbreak of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, especially around Nablus, Ramallah, and Hebron.

These attacks fall within a broad Israeli escalation wave in the West Bank by the army and settlers, since Tel Aviv began, with American support, a genocidal war in the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023.

The attacks in the West Bank have resulted in the deaths of at least 1,069 Palestinians and injuries to about 10,000, in addition to the arrest of more than 20,000 Palestinians, including 1,600 children.

Meanwhile, the genocide in Gaza over two years has left 69,169 Palestinian dead and 170,685 injured, most of whom are children and women, with destruction affecting 90 percent of the civilian infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at about $70 billion.

Since October 10, a ceasefire agreement has been in effect between Hamas and Israel, but the latter violates it daily, resulting in hundreds of Palestinian deaths and injuries, in addition to restricting the entry of food and medical supplies.

For decades, Israel has occupied Palestine and lands in Syria and Lebanon, refusing to withdraw and establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the borders prior to the 1967 war.
