ICC rejects the Israeli occupation's request to suspend the arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Galant.

The International Criminal Court on Thursday rejected an Israeli request to suspend the implementation of arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who are wanted for crimes against humanity and war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.

It's worth noting that the occupation had submitted a request to suspend the implementation of the arrest warrants issued against Netanyahu and Galant, based on a challenge to the court's jurisdiction. However, the Appeals Chamber deemed this request "pointless," as it lacked a legal basis for its submission, and therefore rejected it, according to a statement published by the court on its website on Thursday evening.

The statement said: "The Appeals Chamber rejected, as frivolous, Israel's request to suspend the execution of the two arrest warrants and any other legal measures taken by the Court in consequence."

These developments come within the framework of the appeal filed by the occupation against the decision of the first pre-trial chamber, which rejected Tel Aviv's objection to the court's jurisdiction as premature.

The statement said that the Appeals Chamber decided to "annul the contested decision" and returned the case to the Pre-Trial Chamber for a new ruling on Israel's objection to "jurisdiction."

The decision to refuse to suspend the arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Galant is a significant step in the process, highlighting the court's determination to move forward with legal proceedings related to the case despite appeals filed by Israel.
