King of Jordan affirms his position rejecting the displacement of Palestinians and denounces doubts about it

On Monday, Jordan's King Abdullah II reiterated his position rejecting the displacement of Palestinians, denouncing "some people's questioning of these firm positions."

This came during his meeting with a group of retired military personnel, according to a statement by the Royal Court, a copy of which was received by Anadolu Agency.

The statement said that King Abdullah stressed "Jordan's firm position on the Palestinian issue, rejecting displacement, settlement and an alternative homeland."

He stressed that "his position has not and will not change, and that the saying for 25 years has been no to displacement, no to settlement, no to an alternative homeland."

The Jordanian monarch also denounced "some people's questioning of these firm positions," without referring to any specific party.

King Abdullah stressed that he draws "strength and courage from the dear people, the Jordanian Armed Forces, the security services, and retired military comrades-in-arms."

He added that he "knows the readiness of military retirees to wear the military uniform and stand to his right and left in the face of all challenges," according to the same statement.

He considered that "preserving Jordan's interests, stability and protection are above all considerations."

The King of Jordan stressed the importance of working to rebuild Gaza, "without displacing our Palestinian brothers in the Strip and the occupied West Bank."

He reiterated the "importance of working to reduce escalation in the West Bank," and that achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution is "the only way to achieve stability in the region."

On Sunday, the Jordanian monarch stressed, during his meeting in Amman with a delegation from the US Congress headed by Senator Richard Blumenthal, his rejection of the displacement of Palestinians, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the sustainability of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, according to a statement by the Royal Court, a copy of which was received by Anadolu Agency.

This came days after the King of Jordan confirmed to US President Donald Trump, following talks between the two parties at the White House on Tuesday, his rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.

On February 4, US President Donald Trump revealed during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House that his country intends to seize Gaza after displacing the Palestinians from it to other countries, including Egypt and Jordan.

Trump's plan for Gaza was widely rejected by Palestinians, Arabs and the international community, while it was met with great praise at the political level in Israel, including various trends.
