380 citizens arrested in Jenin, Tulkarm and Tubas since the beginning of the aggression
The Palestinian Prisoners Club said that the Israeli occupation authorities have arrested about 380 citizens in the governorates of Jenin, Tulkarm and Tubas since the beginning of the current aggression.
The Prisoners Club explained in a statement issued today, Thursday, that this data includes those who were arrested and kept in detention by the occupation, and those who were released later, and included children, women, young men, the wounded, and the elderly.
He pointed out that the number of detainees and those who were detained in Jenin and its camp over the course of 24 days of aggression amounted to no less than 150, while in Tulkarm Governorate, on the 18th day, the number of arrests amounted to at least 125, while the number of arrests in Tubas, where the aggression continued for 17 days, amounted to at least 100 cases, in addition to the dozens who were subjected to field investigation in the aforementioned governorates. The arrests were accompanied by severe beatings and systematic abuse of the detainees and their families, in addition to the threats that constitute organized terrorism against citizens.
The Prisoners Club continued, saying that the occupation has adopted a series of policies in various areas where the aggression has escalated, the most prominent of which are field executions, assassinations, and systematic field investigations that have affected dozens of families, in addition to detaining citizens as hostages, and turning homes into military barracks, after forcing their owners to leave them and move to other areas. The targeting of homes was not only by turning them into military barracks, in addition to the deliberate destruction of infrastructure.
He pointed out that field investigations are today the most prominent policy implemented by the occupation in the various governorates of the West Bank, without exception, specifically in towns and camps, during which thousands have been targeted, in addition to organized arrest operations. Based on information documented by the Prisoners Club, the occupation army, when storming homes for the purpose of field investigation, forces families to leave the home, and carries out acts of terrorism against them, and acts of sabotage and destruction inside the homes, before the arrest or detention operation later, as a form of revenge policy, or collective punishment.
