The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called on the UN Security Council to overcome its state of impotence and take urgent action to compel Israel, as an occupying power, to stop its aggression and colonization, and to take the necessary practical measures to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy that guarantee the end of the Israeli occupation of the land of the State of Palestine, in accordance with the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice.

The Ministry condemned in the strongest terms, in a press statement today, Tuesday, the unilateral and illegal measures of the occupation, foremost of which are the crimes of deepening and expanding colonization in the land of the State of Palestine, such as the construction of a colonial road in the village of Yasuf, east of Salfit, and the construction of a new colony on the lands of Battir in Bethlehem, and the seizure of approximately 720 dunums for this purpose, as well as the crimes of legalizing "random" colonial outposts, and allocating huge sums of money to connect the colonies to each other, which leads to the isolation of Jerusalem from its Palestinian surroundings, and the transformation of Palestinian communities into "cantons", and the dismemberment of the occupied West Bank through more than 800 military checkpoints and iron gates that enable the occupation to control and control the movement of Palestinian citizens, and impose more collective punishment on them.

She said that these crimes are accompanied by a noticeable increase in the crime of demolishing homes and facilities throughout the West Bank, including Jerusalem, in the most heinous forms of ethnic cleansing and displacement.

The Ministry stressed that it is following up on the crimes of colonialism in all its forms with all countries and components of the international community, especially the UN Security Council and Human Rights, and with the countries that signed the Geneva Conventions, holding the international community responsible for its failure to stop the occupation’s aggression that is escalating day after day, and the resulting far-reaching threats to the conflict arena and the region.
