The Israeli occupation demands information from mediators about the Bibas family

Today, Saturday, the Israeli occupation asked the mediators who sponsored the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip for information regarding the family members of Yarden Bibas, who was released by Hamas, as part of the fourth batch of hostage and prisoner exchange.

Referring to Bibas' wife and two children, the Israeli coordinator for hostage affairs, Gal Hirsch, said in a statement that "the Bibas family... has been living in constant fear for their lives for a long time... and we continue to demand information about their condition from intermediaries."

The release of Bibas has once again shed light on the fate of his wife, Sheri, and their two young sons, who were kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz. A video of their abduction by armed men shows Sheri wrapping her children, Arbel and Kfir, in a blanket. Kfir was the youngest of about 250 people taken on Oct. 7.

The story has sparked a sense of helplessness and anger in Israel, where the Bibas family has become a household name.

Hamas said Sheri and her two sons were killed in an Israeli air strike in the early months of the Gaza war.
