Gaza infant dies of severe cold
Medical sources announced the death of the infant girl, Aisha Adnan Sufyan Al-Qassas, as a result of the severe cold inside her family’s displacement tent in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis.
It has been previously reported that there have been previous deaths among children due to the severe cold, as displaced families suffer during depressions from low temperatures, due to the lack of sufficient blankets or winter clothes, and the inability of plastic tents to provide warmth from the harsh winter cold.
A large number of displaced people in the Gaza Strip, who live in tents, have begun taking some simple measures, hoping to protect their tents from being uprooted or flooded, in preparation for the coming low pressure system.
With simple tools, citizens in the low-lying areas of displacement areas where tents are set up began to place earthen barriers to divert the path of rainwater so that it does not enter the heart of their tents.
