West Bank: Israeli settlers burn a mosque and write racist slogans on its walls north of Salfit
Settlers burned down a mosque in the village of Marda, north of Salfit, at dawn on Friday.
Local sources reported that settlers stormed the eastern part of the village at dawn, burned down the Bar al-Walid Mosque, and wrote racist slogans on its walls.
The sources added that the residents were able to control the fire before it spread to the entire mosque, as the damage was limited to its entrance only.
During the same period, the occupation forces demolished the Al-Shiyah Mosque in the town of Jabal al-Mukaber in occupied Jerusalem, noting that it had been built for 20 years. Settlers also desecrated the Khirbet Marah al-Baqar Mosque in the town of Dura in the Hebron Governorate.
The occupation forces also damaged the Abu Bakr al-Siddiq mosque in Nour Shams camp, and the Shuhada mosque in Tulkarm camp, and demolished a prayer hall for the Arab al-Ara’ra community near the town of Jaba’ east of Jerusalem, and part of a settlement for the Abu Bakr al-Siddiq mosque in the Far’a camp in Tubas governorate.
