Abu Rudeineh: Talk of establishing a buffer zone to distribute aid in Gaza is completely unacceptable

The official spokesman for the presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, said that the news circulated by some Israeli media outlets about the so-called establishment of a buffer zone in the northern Gaza Strip and Jabalia to distribute aid in the Gaza Strip through a private American company and with foreign funding, are completely rejected and unacceptable plans, and they violate all international legitimacy resolutions and international law, which considers the Gaza Strip an integral part of the occupied State of Palestine.

He added that any plans related to the future of the Gaza Strip, or the distribution of aid there, are only made through the State of Palestine, and through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and other relevant international organizations.

Abu Rudeineh pointed out that President Mahmoud Abbas has repeatedly stressed the need to implement UN Resolution 2735 immediately, which calls for an immediate cessation of aggression on the Gaza Strip, the urgent entry of aid into the entire Strip, the State of Palestine assuming its full responsibilities, and a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

He stressed that any temporary plans will not address the roots of the conflict, which can only be resolved by implementing the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice to end the Israeli occupation and embody the independence of the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli media talked about a plan currently being discussed to establish a buffer zone in the northern Gaza Strip and Jabalia camp, to bring aid into the Gaza Strip via a private American security company with foreign funding, according to what was published by the Israeli media.
