Israel assassinates Hezbollah media relations official in Beirut raid

A Lebanese security source confirmed to Al Jazeera that Hezbollah media relations official, Mohammed Afif, was assassinated in an Israeli raid on the Ras al-Nabaa area in Beirut.

The Israeli raid targeted a building belonging to the Baath Party in the downtown area of the capital, Beirut, which led to a large displacement of residents, especially since the area is considered relatively safe.

Following the raid, the Israeli Army Radio said that "Mohammad Afif, Hezbollah's media relations official, was the target of the assassination in Beirut."

Hezbollah did not issue any comment on the news of Afif's assassination, while the Lebanese Ministry of Health said that "one person was martyred and three were injured in an Israeli enemy raid on the Ras al-Nabaa area in Beirut."
