The United Nations said on Friday that Israel has allowed the evacuation of only a quarter of the 21,000 patients from Gaza since October 2023.

This came in a press conference by UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric, where he indicated that the World Health Organization and its partners carried out a medical evacuation of 8 children and their companions, last Wednesday, from Gaza to Jordan.

Dujarric explained that these children will be transferred to the United States after undergoing special care in Jordan.

He reported that Israel allowed the evacuation of only 25% of the 21,000 patients in Gaza.

Dujarric stressed the need to create "evacuation corridors" for the safe and timely evacuation of people in need of special treatment.
