More than 90 NGOs call for an end to the looting of humanitarian aid in Gaza

More than ninety Palestinian civil society organizations have signed an appeal issued by the Palestinian NGO Network, calling on all sectors of the Palestinian people to intensify efforts to stop the theft of humanitarian aid and ensure that it reaches those who deserve it in the Gaza Strip.

In its appeal, the network called on all political forces, clans and families, in addition to private sector institutions, organizations, bodies, unions and individuals, to take a firm stance to protect the aid that reaches the Strip, and not to be lenient with individuals and groups that attack this aid, which deprives the Palestinian people of their right to receive aid in light of the difficult circumstances they are living in as a result of the aggression and siege imposed by the Israeli occupation forces.

The organizations that signed the appeal accused the Israeli occupation of bearing full responsibility for the serious repercussions on the humanitarian situation in Gaza, noting that these attacks contribute to spreading chaos, destroying local capabilities, and spreading humanitarian crises.

She stressed that targeting those responsible for protecting aid threatens the ability of these teams to ensure that aid reaches the deserving groups.

The appeal also stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities by pressuring the Israeli occupation to open all crossings for the entry of humanitarian aid in its various forms, warning that the restrictions imposed on the entry of aid and private sector goods may exacerbate the conditions of famine and malnutrition in Gaza.

The organizations stressed the importance of joint action to protect the rights of the Palestinian people to receive humanitarian aid and ensure its security, stressing that these efforts are necessary in confronting Israeli policies that target the Palestinian people in all aspects of their lives.
