Two dead, four wounded, and property damage in Jenin and its camp

The Israeli occupation aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp, which lasted 8 hours, today, Monday, resulted in the death of a child and a young man, the injury of 4 citizens, and the destruction of public and private property.


According to local sources, the occupation forces withdrew from the Al-Aloub and Al-Hawashin neighborhoods inside Jenin camp, and from the center of Jenin city and the outskirts of Al-Sibat neighborhood, where they were stationed throughout the raid.


The sources indicated that the occupation bulldozers destroyed part of a house in Al-Aloub neighborhood, and also razed the infrastructure at the "Hisan Roundabout" at the entrance to the camp.


Medical sources announced the death of the child Rayan Ibrahim Al-Sayed (17 years old) and the young man Mahmoud Mamoun Abu Al-Rab (23 years old), who succumbed to their wounds from the occupation's bullets, in addition to the injury of four citizens with various wounds.


A special force from the occupation army, "undercover soldiers", had infiltrated the outskirts of the camp and surrounded a house, before the occupation sent reinforcements accompanied by a military bulldozer into the city and its camp from the Jalameh military checkpoint.


The occupation forces were stationed in the Cinema Roundabout area in the center of the city, near Al-Hasbah Street, and at the entrances to the camp. The occupation forces’ snipers were deployed on the roofs of a number of tall buildings, amidst intensive flying of the occupation forces’ drones.


Our correspondent reported that violent clashes erupted with the occupation forces in Jenin camp, during which live bullets were fired at the youths, resulting in four citizens being injured by bullets.


She confirmed that the occupation forces opened direct and deliberate fire at a group of journalists while they were covering the aggression, near the Cinema Roundabout.


Local sources reported that the occupation soldiers arrested a paramedic while he was working inside the camp. UNRWA schools were also evacuated of students after they were detained for more than 7 hours inside their schools and were unable to leave due to the occupation forces being stationed inside the camp, while ambulance crews evacuated a group of children who were detained inside their kindergarten in the middle of the camp.


With the martyrdom of the child Al-Sayed and the young man Abu Al-Rab, the death toll in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, has risen to 754 martyrs, including 165 children, in addition to more than 6,250 citizens being injured with varying degrees of severity, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
