Lebanese Ministry of Health: 51 dead and 174 wounded as a result of yesterday's Israeli aggression
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced today, Sunday, that the death toll from the Israeli attacks that targeted several areas in the country yesterday (Saturday) has risen to 51 dead and 174 wounded, in the context of the military escalation that has been ongoing since early October.
The ministry explained in a statement that the total number of victims since the start of the Israeli aggression on Lebanon on October 8, 2023 has reached 2,306 dead and 10,698 wounded.
Reflecting the scale of the humanitarian disaster that the country is experiencing as a result of this aggression.
The continuous Israeli raids on many Lebanese areas led to widespread destruction of infrastructure and the direct targeting of civilians, resulting in a large number of dead and wounded.
Since the start of military operations, areas in southern Lebanon in particular have been under intense bombardment, which has led to the displacement of thousands of families and the demolition of many homes and civilian facilities.
Lebanon is witnessing an unprecedented escalation of airstrikes and artillery targeting residential and civilian areas. According to medical reports, many of the wounded are suffering from serious injuries, and there is a shortage of medical supplies in hospitals that are now working at maximum capacity to receive the large number of wounded.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health stressed in its statements the need to intensify humanitarian and medical support to Lebanon, noting that the situation is worsening with the continuation of military operations. It called on the international community to intervene immediately to stop the attacks and provide necessary assistance to the injured and displaced.
