UN: We provided 5.6 million medical consultations in Gaza
UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has provided more than 5.6 million medical consultations to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.
He added in press statements that the United Nations continues "wherever possible" to provide vital assistance to the Palestinians in Gaza, where Israel has been committing genocide for a year.
He explained that UNRWA has also reached nearly 1.9 million people with two rounds of flour supplies since October 2023.
Dujarric noted that field staff of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) are "very concerned" about the current situation in Gaza.
He pointed out that Israel continues to warn Palestinians to evacuate some areas in Gaza, while continuing to bomb homes and infrastructure.
He warned that "Israel merely issuing evacuation orders to civilians will not keep them safe if they do not have safe shelter and medicine to survive."
