UNICEF announces the death of 100 children in Lebanon

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) announced that at least 100 children were killed in Lebanon in 11 days, while 690 others were injured in the last six weeks, as a result of the Israeli aggression on the country.

The organization said via the X platform, "According to reports, at least 100 children were killed in Lebanon in 11 days, and more than 690 children were injured in the last six weeks."

It added that UNICEF, with its partners, is providing emergency medical supplies and essential services in Lebanon.

Since September 23, Israel has expanded the scope of the genocide it has been committing in Gaza since October 7, 2023, to include most areas of Lebanon, including the capital Beirut, through unprecedentedly violent and intense air strikes. It has also begun a ground incursion into the south, disregarding international warnings and UN resolutions.

These raids resulted, by the end of Friday, in 1,181 dead and 3,318 wounded, including a large number of women and children, and more than 1.2 million displaced people, according to Anadolu Agency’s monitoring of official Lebanese data.

In return, Hezbollah responds to the aggression by launching missiles, drones and artillery shells targeting military sites and settlements across Israel.
