"Health" condemns Israeli occupation's kidnapping of a Palestinian patient from a hospital in Hebron

The Palestinian Ministry of Health condemned the kidnapping of a patient by an Israeli special force who was being treated at President Mahmoud Abbas Hospital in Halhul, north of Hebron.

The ministry said in a press statement on Thursday that at midnight last night, an Israeli special force in civilian clothes stormed President Mahmoud Abbas Hospital, armed with automatic weapons, where they raided the internal medicine department and kidnapped the patient, Ayham Al-Saadi.

The Director General of Hospitals, Dr. Haitham Al-Hadry, added that the patient was receiving treatment in an isolation room, and his health condition was difficult, after 4 operations were performed and more than 7 fractures in the lower limbs were fixed, as well as muscle and ligament tears and bone erosion, with tissue and skin loss in the left thigh. He was still suffering from ulcers and severe inflammation in the area of the operations, in addition to the spread of bacteria in the blood.

Al-Hadri pointed out that the patient suffers from severe emaciation and weight loss, stressing that kidnapping the patient poses an imminent danger to this patient's life.

Al-Hadri warned of the danger of the occupation's repeated storming and besieging of hospitals, which is inconsistent with all international conventions and norms, which stipulate the protection of medical and health personnel, facilities, and patients, even in times of war.
