3 Israelis killed in shooting near Karameh border crossing with Jordan

Three Israelis were killed on Sunday in a shooting attack at the Karameh border crossing with Jordan, east of the West Bank, while the perpetrator was martyred.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority said that 3 people were killed as a result of the shooting, noting that the "perpetrator was neutralized." It stated that a resistance fighter opened fire towards the crossing, resulting in several injuries, before confirming the death of 3 wounded.

The Israeli army radio said, "The initial investigation shows that a Jordanian truck driver came from Jordanian territory to the Karameh crossing, put a weapon in the truck, took it out and opened fire on those present in the cargo area."

The Karameh crossing is the main land outlet for Palestinians in the West Bank towards Jordan and the outside world.

Channel 13 reported that the occupation forces are conducting combing operations for fear of the presence of other resistance fighters who intend to carry out operations. The attack comes a few days after the occupation ended a large-scale invasion of the northern West Bank that lasted for about 10 days and included the killing of more than 30 Palestinians and extensive destruction of civilian infrastructure.
