Ministerial delegation: We will begin to assess the damage caused by the aggression and rebuild immediately after the occupation withdraws from Jenin
The ministerial delegation to Jenin confirmed that the operations of assessing the damage caused by the aggression and rebuilding the affected cities and camps will be completed immediately after the withdrawal of the occupation forces from them.
This came during a press conference held by a number of ministers today, Thursday, regarding the occupation's attacks on Jenin and its camp.
The ministers' tour also aimed to see the effects of the aggression, and to talk about government interventions to provide relief and shelter to citizens, and to repair what the occupation destroyed in the northern West Bank governorates.
The Israeli occupation forces prevented the ministerial delegation from reaching the city of Jenin.
Jenin Governor Kamal Abu al-Rab said that the occupation aims to displace thousands of citizens from the city of Jenin and its camp, and insists on expanding its military operations and besieging the Jenin municipality and the government hospital.
He added: The losses and damages to the various sectors in Jenin will be estimated immediately after the withdrawal of the occupation army and the complete cessation of aggression, and there are specialists from the municipalities, chambers of commerce and the private sector who will estimate the losses.
He praised the efforts made by the security services, ambulances and civil defense in providing the needs of citizens in the various affected areas.
Director of the Government Media Center, Mohammed Abu Al-Rab, said that there is a government emergency committee that continues to work to alleviate the suffering of our people. The Ministry of Local Government has prepared plans to confront the effects of the destruction, and the Ministry of Development continues its efforts to shelter the displaced in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
For his part, Minister of Health Majed Abu Ramadan said, “What we see in the various Palestinian governorates indicates that all Palestinians are targeted, that there is no safe place in Palestine and that everyone is targeted.”
He added that preventing me from reaching the government hospital in Jenin is an expression of the occupation's arrogance and a violation of international laws.
He pointed out that the Ministry mobilized all its staff present in the hospitals to provide the necessary supplies to citizens, and transferred kidney dialysis patients from Jenin Hospital to Nablus and other areas to receive treatment.
He stressed that the occupation is deliberately and systematically destroying Jenin and various Palestinian governorates, and is repeating what it did in the Gaza Strip.
For her part, Minister of Social Development Samah Abu Aoun said, “We are present in Jenin, Tulkarm and Tubas to assist citizens.”
She added that a large number of workers have lost their jobs, and that there are integrated efforts being made to support families and increase their resilience, stressing that the ministry will continue to provide support with regard to emergency services.
She pointed out that the Ministry has provided a number of emergency devices for people with disabilities to alleviate their suffering.
Abu Aoun confirmed that the citizens of Jenin and Gaza will return to their homes, and that nothing will prevent the reconstruction of what the occupation destroyed.
In turn, Minister of Local Government Sami Hijjawi said, “We are working to stand by our people in Jenin in cooperation with the local authorities in the governorate and all governorates of the homeland, to be ready to intervene immediately after the occupation withdraws from the city to begin rebuilding and restoring what was demolished.”
He added that the government has allocated funds from its budget, despite the difficult financial situation, to rebuild the Jenin, Nour Shams and Tulkarm camps, and has formed a government committee to assess the damage and carry out reconstruction.
He pointed out that the government announced in its session that it would spare nothing to help our people rebuild and provide the necessary funds.
