Gantz and Eisenkot attack Netanyahu
Israeli opposition leader Benny Gantz and his ally Gadi Eisenkot attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday evening over his statements at a press conference yesterday regarding decisions taken in the War Council, of which they were members.
Gantz reiterated that Netanyahu will not return the kidnapped soldiers in Gaza and that what matters to him is political survival, accusing him of acting alone and making decisions alone without referring to the War Council.
Gantz confirmed that Netanyahu rejected several proposals to enter Khan Yunis and Rafah at the beginning of the war.
He stressed the need to reach an agreement to return the prisoners, as translated by Sada News.
Eisenkot said that Netanyahu refused to make any changes to the war's objectives, none of which were achieved.
He added: Netanyahu decided, for political and partisan reasons, not to implement the proposed deal.
In response, Netanyahu said: Since Gantz and his party resigned from the government, Israel has eliminated the chief of staff of Hamas, the chief of staff of Hezbollah, attacked the Houthis, captured Philadelphi, carried out a preemptive attack against Hezbollah, thwarted its plan, and destroyed thousands of missiles directed at the Galilee. Whoever does not contribute to victory and the return of our hostages should not interfere.
