Despite Netanyahu's statements, Israel agrees to withdraw from Philadelphia
In recent days, senior Israeli officials have informed the United States and mediating countries of the Tel Aviv government's approval to withdraw from the Philadelphi corridor.
According to the Hebrew Channel Kan, this message was conveyed to the mediators despite Netanyahu's recent statements in which he insists on remaining in the Philadelphi axis.
She explained that Israel expressed its readiness to withdraw in the second phase of the deal.
She pointed out that the mediating countries, including the United States, recently held talks with the aim of drafting a framework for a new agreement, and the mediators intend to publish it soon.
She expected that US President Joe Biden would soon appear at a press conference, which may be held next Friday, in which he would announce the details of the proposal.
She stated that Mossad chief Didi Barnea headed to Doha yesterday for this reason, and it is expected that the talks will continue there in the coming days.
A source familiar with the talks said: The Israeli position includes insistence on an Israeli presence in the Philadelphi Corridor in the first phase of the deal, including reducing forces, and withdrawing from the corridor in the second phase.
