Türkiye: Israel has transferred its systematic brutality in Gaza to the West Bank
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan expressed his regret that the systematic Israeli brutality committed in the Gaza Strip has extended to the West Bank as well.
This came in a joint press conference, on Friday, with Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon, in the capital, Ljubljana.
Vidan explained that Israel has left people in Gaza without food and drink "systematically" in continuation of the "genocide" that has been ongoing since October 7, 2023.
He added that Israel trampled on all human values by bombing hospitals, mosques, churches and schools in Gaza.
He stressed that it is impossible to remain silent about the Israeli provocations that aim to change the historical status of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
"Unfortunately, Israel has transferred the systematic brutality committed in Gaza to the West Bank as well," Vidan added.
He said that Israel is trying to expand the war to different fronts, and that tension in the region has reached high levels.
"The Netanyahu government continues to play with fire. It is putting the future of the entire region at risk in order to maintain power," he said.
He continued: "Anyone who provides unconditional support to Israel, especially those who remain silent about Gaza, is responsible. Israel's barbarism must end now."
He pointed out that Slovenia had shown a principled position by recognizing the State of Palestine last June, saying: "I believe that we can increase our joint efforts with countries that adhere to international law to implement a just and lasting solution in Palestine."
Fidan called on the international community to put pressure on Israel to agree to a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
He stressed that the only way to achieve lasting peace is to establish an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
