Borrell: Rapid spread of polio threatens Gaza children

The European Union's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, said the rapid spread of polio threatens Gaza's children, who have become vulnerable due to displacement, deprivation and malnutrition.

In a press statement, Borrell called for an immediate 3-day humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, to enable UNICEF and the World Health Organization to conduct polio vaccinations.

It is noteworthy that the past period was the least in terms of aid entering the Gaza Strip due to the obstacles imposed by the Israeli occupation state, within the framework of the starvation policy it is pursuing against innocent citizens in the Strip.

The Israeli occupation forces prevent the entry of humanitarian and relief aid, and even aid, through the Kerem Shalom crossing, temporarily, and the occupying state is working hard to reduce the number of trucks entering the Strip on a daily basis.
