Palestinian Prisoners' Authority reveals the tragic conditions suffered by female prisoners in "Al-Damon"

The Commission of Prisoners' Affairs and Liberated Prisoners revealed this Tuesday afternoon the continued poor detention conditions experienced by female prisoners in Al-Damon Prison, imposed on them according to the escalation policy that began on October 7.

The Commission explained, according to its lawyer’s visit to the prison, that the prison administration is still detaining female prisoners in narrow sections, at very high temperatures and humidity, according to the testimonies of a number of female prisoners.

The Commission’s lawyer stated that the prisoner “D.A.” from the village of Salem, 20 years old, a student at An-Najah University in Nablus, suffers from migraines and is not given vitamins or iron, which has led to the deterioration of her medical condition.

Regarding the conditions of the prisoner’s detention, the Commission’s lawyer said that she was arrested from her home on 7/24/2024 in the village of Salem about a month ago on charges of incitement on Facebook. She was then transferred to “Hasharon Prison” for 5 days in difficult conditions in a cell with another prisoner without food or a bathroom. She was assaulted before being transferred to Al-Damon Prison, where she is held in Section 3 with 8 female prisoners in the same room, where there is high humidity and temperature.

It is worth mentioning that the number of female prisoners in Damon has reached 84 today, three of whom are from the Gaza Strip.
