President Abbas: I have decided to head with all members of the Palestinian leadership to the Gaza Strip
President Mahmoud Abbas said: "I have decided to head with all members of the Palestinian leadership to the Gaza Strip, and we call for securing our arrival there."
In his important speech delivered at the General Assembly of the Turkish Parliament, held today, Thursday, in the Turkish capital Ankara, in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President Abbas called on world leaders and the Secretary-General of the United Nations to visit Gaza.
He stressed that after the Gaza Strip, he will head to the city of Jerusalem, noting that Israel's real goal from the war of extermination in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem is to uproot the Palestinian presence from our homeland and to forcibly displace the Palestinians again, which will never happen no matter what they do and no matter how hard they try.
He said: "I have come to you carrying the pain and hopes of our Palestinian people, who have been living in great pain and continuous catastrophe since 1948, and are facing the crimes of the occupation and the absence of international justice, clinging to their land, homeland, holy sites and fixed national rights."
In this regard, the President praised the positions of Egypt and Jordan rejecting the Israeli displacement plans, which are completely consistent with the Palestinian positions and support them in all forums, and the international consensus opposing these Israeli plans that violate international law.
He expressed his surprise at the silence of the international community in the face of the daily massacres committed by the occupation in the shelters, including the massacre of the Tabeen School, which claimed the lives of more than a hundred martyrs.
President Abbas reiterated that: “Gaza is an integral part of the unified Palestinian state, and that there is no state in Gaza, and no state without Gaza. Our people will not be broken or surrender. We will rebuild Gaza and heal the wounds of our people with the arms of its sons, and with the support of our Arab and Islamic nations and the free people of the world, under the umbrella of our independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, no matter how long it takes, and no matter how great the sacrifices.”
He stressed that the murderers and war criminals will never escape punishment for the crimes they have committed and continue to commit, which will not be subject to a statute of limitations. We will continue our struggle and fight to achieve justice in Palestine, and we will continue to work diligently with the relevant international institutions, most notably the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, the Human Rights Council and others, in addition to the General Assembly and the Security Council, as the State of Palestine is an established reality on our land and in the international community.
He appreciated the role of Turkey, led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for its courageous and principled positions in defense of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and independence. He also expressed his appreciation for the positions of all Turkish parties and civil society institutions, rejecting and denouncing the heinous crimes committed by the occupation against our people, our land and our holy sites.
He said: We rely greatly on the support of our brothers in Türkiye, which has made the issue of Jerusalem and Palestine its central issue.
