Extremist settlers storm Hebron under the protection of the occupation army
Today, Tuesday, extremist settlers stormed the Bab al-Zawiya area and Bir al-Saba Street in the center of Hebron under the protection of the Israeli occupation army, which ordered shop owners to close their shops.
The storming of the city of Hebron by extremist settlers comes as part of what is known as the celebration of settlers' holidays and the anniversary of the destruction of the Temple.
The occupation army brought a military force to the area and began searching the area. They had explosive detection devices and police dogs to secure the entry of the extremist settlers, while deploying sniper soldiers on top of the neighboring buildings.
The settlers performed Talmudic prayers in Hebron, as the settlers attach special importance to Hebron and consider it the city of their fathers and grandfathers. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed more than once that they will not leave Hebron and will not abandon it, and he said explicitly: “If Jerusalem is our mind, then Hebron is our heart,” he claimed.
Hebron is the largest city in the West Bank and has its own agreement called the Hebron Agreement, which was concluded in 1997 and Netanyahu personally supervised its signing.
Storming Al-Aqsa Mosque
This morning, Tuesday, the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque witnessed successive incursions by Jewish settlers on the anniversary of the alleged “destruction of the Temple,” as about 3,000 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa courtyards and performed Talmudic prayers under the protection of the occupation police.
This was accompanied by the imposition of a wide security cordon in the Old City, especially at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, restrictions on the movement of Jerusalemites and the prevention of the entry of worshipers.
The extremist Ben Gvir
Later, after the settlers began arriving, the extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, and the Minister of Negev and Galilee Affairs, Yitzhak Wasserlauf, stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The occupation police turned the Old City of occupied Jerusalem into a military barracks, and deployed hundreds of its members at close distances, especially at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and tightened its military measures at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the gates of the Old City, and imposed restrictions on the entry of worshipers.
According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), Ben Gvir and Vasserlauf led the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Mughrabi Gate, and toured the eastern courtyard, accompanied by a large number of occupation police officers.
