Israeli occupation threatens to launch a ground operation in northern Gaza
The Israeli army threatened a new military operation in the northern Gaza Strip under the pretext of rockets being fired from the area, and ordered residents to head south, while the ongoing bombing claimed more Palestinian lives.
In a tweet he posted early Wednesday on the "X" platform, the spokesman for the occupation army, Avichay Adraee, said that all those present in the Beit Hanoun area, the Manshiyya and Sheikh Zayed neighborhoods, and the displaced there must evacuate their areas immediately towards the "known shelters" in the center of Gaza City.
He added that Hamas and other factions are launching rockets from those areas, and that the Israeli army will act "immediately and forcefully against them," as he put it.
On the other hand, Israeli Channel 12 said that the army is preparing for what it described as a large-scale ground activity in Beit Hanoun.
Since the start of its ground invasion in late October, the occupation army has carried out several incursions north of the besieged Strip, especially in Beit Hanoun and Jabalia camp, but it has failed to end the Palestinian resistance there.
Recently, the Israeli army began extensive military operations east of Khan Yunis and in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood south of Gaza City, where it was subjected to repeated strikes by the resistance, in parallel with the ongoing operations in Rafah to the south.
The Israeli invasions of Rafah and Khan Yunis have displaced more than a million Palestinians, according to figures published by the United Nations.
